As a photographer, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is getting to work with people who evolve and grow over time. That’s exactly what’s happened with Monisa—a talented model and photographer and entrepreneur from Fayetteville who I first met a few years ago through a mutual friend. Since then, we’ve collaborated on several projects, and I’ve had the pleasure of watching her career take off. She’s now booked jobs with brands like Correct Connect and Belevation, and it’s been incredible to see her shine!
When Monisa reached out for a headshot and branding session, I couldn’t wait to get started. After I made the move from Cameron to Carthage, I was eager to invite her to my new studio. And let me tell you, it was the perfect space to get creative!
A Branding Session Like No Other
One of the things I love most about branding photography is that it’s all about capturing someone’s unique essence, whether it’s for their business or personal brand. For Monisa, we combined her modeling experience with some fresh, modern branding shots that truly reflected her personality and style.
We began the session with some creative shots using colored gels—a fun technique that allows me to play with light and create portraits with a twist. I’m always looking for ways to break away from the traditional “studio look,” and the gels provided a bold, vibrant backdrop for some of Monisa’s more dramatic shots. It was an absolute blast experimenting with different colors and seeing how the lighting brought out her energy!
Quick, Efficient, and Fun: 6 Outfits in 90 Minutes
We moved fast throughout the session, hitting multiple stations I had set up in the studio. From the creative gel shots to more traditional branding portraits in my lifestyle room, Monisa didn’t miss a beat. I counted a total of six different outfits in just 90 minutes—and that might just be a new record for me! She came prepared with a variety of props—glasses, a laptop, a phone, and even a coffee mug—which helped add so much variety to the shots. The props really brought out different sides of her personality, and they gave each image a fresh, relatable feel.
It’s always a pleasure when clients come with ideas and props, because it helps make the session more dynamic. In Monisa’s case, these little accessories told the story of someone who is not just a model, but a professional who’s always on the go and ready to take on the world. And those elements helped us create an array of images that showcase her as both a confident businesswoman and a creative spirit.
How It All Came Together
By the end of the session, I was absolutely thrilled with how the images turned out. From the bold, high-energy shots with the colored gels to the more polished, professional branding portraits, we managed to create a well-rounded portfolio that reflects the many facets of Monisa’s career.
Whether you’re based in Carthage, Southern Pines, Pinehurst, or even further out in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, or Fayetteville, a headshot and branding session can be an incredible way to elevate your image. It’s all about showing off your personality and the work you’re doing—whether you’re an entrepreneur, a model, or a professional in any field.
If you’re looking for a session that’s fun, efficient, and captures who you truly are, I’d love to help! We can experiment with lighting, use props, and get creative—just like we did with Monisa.
