The first time I met Julia was for her maternity session at the Campbell House five or six years ago. It’s always amazing to reconnect with past clients and see how their lives have evolved. Since then, she has become a wonderful mom to a beautiful daughter and has also built an incredible career as a successful realtor in Fayetteville, NC. Seeing her thrive both personally and professionally has been such a joy!
A while back, Julia reached out to me at Makana Miyamoto Photography because she wanted to update her professional headshots and branding images. She knew that in the competitive world of real estate, having strong, high-quality images is a must. First impressions matter, and when potential clients search for a realtor, their online presence—including their photos—can make all the difference. Professional headshots help build trust, show personality, and create a polished, approachable brand image.
For her session, Julia wanted a fresh, modern, and stylish look that truly reflected her personality and brand. We decided to meet in downtown Southern Pines, one of my favorite spots for headshot and branding photography.
The mix of charming streets, trendy storefronts, and cozy courtyards provided the perfect backdrop to capture a variety of dynamic and engaging images.
We started with some classic shots on the sidewalk, using the urban vibe to create a polished yet welcoming feel.
Then, Julia switched outfits to add some variety to her branding portfolio, allowing her to use different images across social media, her website, and marketing materials. We moved through different locations—from the picturesque courtyards to the front of the iconic Jefferson Inn, making sure each setting reflected her professional yet approachable style.
Then, a little while later, we added a studio session for even more versatility. Incorporating props like a laptop and phone, a cozy couch, vibrant blue walls, and lush plants, we created a relaxed yet professional setting. Julia opted for a simple jeans-and-t-shirt look to convey an approachable and friendly vibe, perfect for connecting with potential clients on a more personal level.
One of my favorite parts of the session was capturing Julia’s genuine confidence and warmth. As a photographer, my goal is always to create images that feel authentic and true to each client’s brand. For Julia, that meant balancing professionalism with a friendly, inviting energy—something that’s so important in the real estate industry.
